Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Maintenance Manager to oversee our client's maintenance operations in the food distribution sector. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of our facilities and equipment, contributing to the smooth operation of our distribution processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the maintenance team, including technicians and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies and programs to ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and longevity of equipment, vehicles, and facilities
- Plan and prioritize maintenance activities, including preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment inspections, and repairs
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and disruptions to distribution operations while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance, such as equipment uptime, response time, and maintenance costs, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Oversee the procurement and inventory management of maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services and manage contractor relationships
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history for reporting and analysis purposes
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, safety standards, and food safety guidelines in all maintenance operations
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for equipment malfunctions and breakdowns, implementing root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the development of long-term facility and equipment upgrade plans
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance management or in a leading position, preferably within the food distribution or related industry
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop teams
- Proficiency in maintenance practices, including preventive maintenance programs, equipment diagnostics, and repair techniques
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
- Knowledge of safety regulations and food safety standards in a distribution environment
- Computer / software skills are a plus
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed
